Indigenous Defence Production achieves record of Rs 1.27 lakh crore in 2023-24: Govt
Marking a 30-fold rise over the last decade, defence exports have also climbed from 686 crore in 2013-14 to an all-time high of more than 21 thousand crore rupees in 2023-24.
Amid Reaching a record one lakh 27 thousand crore rupees, the country has recorded the highest-ever increase in indigenous defence manufacturing in 2023-24 since the start of the Make in India campaign.
Defence Ministry stated that from 46 thousand 429 crore in 2014-15, the value of defence output has skyrocketed 174 percent. Once reliant on foreign suppliers, the Ministry stated, the country today stands as a growing power in domestic manufacturing, hence forming its military strength by means of homegrown capacities.
