Forest clearance obtained for construction of three heliports in the state of Himachal Pradesh
A state government spokesperson said here today that stage-one clearance has been received from the Central government for construction of three heliports in Himachal Pradesh.
Himachal Pradesh: A state government spokesperson said here today that stage-one clearance has been received from the Central government for construction of three heliports in Himachal Pradesh. These include heliports at Holi and Pangi in Chamba district as well as a heliport near Green Tax Barrier at Manali in Kullu district.
He said the state government is actively working to expedite the construction of heliports in the state. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has directed the concerned officers to ensure that there is no delay in the construction work and all the necessary formalities, especially the forest clearance process, are completed at the earliest.

The spokesperson said that the Chief Minister has given special priority to the development of heliports to enhance air connectivity for the convenience of tourists visiting the state. Better tourism infrastructure will create employment and self-employment opportunities for the local people.

This initiative will not only develop transport facilities but will also strengthen the tourism sector and local economy.
He said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, serious efforts are being made to strengthen air connectivity by building 16 heliports in all the district headquarters and tribal areas. The government is focusing on enhancing tourism infrastructure and improving facilities for visitors. Apart from this, the expansion work of Kangra airport has been expedited and efforts are also being made to expand Bhuntar airport. He said that with these efforts, domestic and international tourists will be able to easily reach their favorite destinations in the state.
