- He took charge as Director (Personnel), Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) w.e.f December 2019 and handling various functions such as Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management & Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, Public Relations, Welfare, Land acquisition, Liaison with Government and other authorities, Security, Industrial Engineering, Communication networks, Legal affairs, Formulation of Policies and Corporate level decision making as a member of the MCL Board.
- He is the HR head for around 21787 workforce of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited. He has introduced various HR and IT initiatives in MCL and contributed to improving business processes through systemic improvement and effective utilisation of Human Resources. These efforts resulted in enhancing the employee engagement level and organisational productivity. During the financial year, MCL has achieved highestever 168 million tonnes of coal production with an impressive growth of about 14% over the previous fiscal 2020-21.
- He has received appreciation from the Minister of Coal, Mines & Parliamentary Affairs and the Minister of State for Rail, for achieving the highest dispatching record of 6.25 lakh tonnes of coal to consumers on 28/10/2021. He was also conferred the CSR Leader of the Year award by “Governance Now” for the CSR initiatives in MCL. During the pandemic time, he has shown a proactive leadership approach and ensured all needful assistance to State Govt, Center Govt to combat the covid-19 crisis.
- Prior to joining MCL, he served as a Director in the Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi from 2010 to 2015. As Director of CVC, he was associated with vigilance matters of all organizations under the coal ministry and assisted the commission in driving many vigilance reforms. He has also served as the Chief Vigilance Officer of four organizations under the ministry of civil aviation viz. Pawan Hans Ltd., DGCA, IGRUA and Airport Authority of India.
- Later as a General Manager (personnel) in BSNL he handled HR matters of around 50,000 executives. He was instrumental in the resolution of many legal bottlenecks which facilitated an end to long-pending cases leading to over 10,000 promotions within 3 months. He also contributed to the formulation of a new promotion policy. He has attended various training programmes/conferences in US, UK, France Austria and Portugal. He has delivered training courses in HR to international audiences in South Africa, IIM-Sambalpur, IICM Ranchi, Northern Coalfields Limited etc.
- He served as an editor of the CVC’s newsletter Vigeye Vani. He headed committees set up to examine delays in disciplinary proceedings across various government organizations and also was a member of the committee for drafting of vigilance manual released by CVC in 2017.
- He also served as secretary to the Vigilance Study Circle Delhi NCR. He has been delivering lectures on various topics of HR and vigilance in several organizations.
