State-owned MECON Limited and Tata Steel Limited entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 6, 2025, to collaborate on the joint participation and implementation of mining projects.
The signing of the MoU took place in the presence of senior officials from both MECON and Tata Steel.
MECON Limited, formerly known as Metallurgical & Engineering Consultants (India) Limited, is a central public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. The company was established in 1959 as the Central Engineering and Designing Bureau (CEDB) of Hindustan Steel Limited (HSL), the first public-sector steel company in India.
