MECL signed landmark MoU with Government of Catamarca, Argentina

New Delhi: In a momentous development, MECL has taken a significant step forward by signing a landmark MoU with the Government of Catamarca, Argentina, paving the way for India’s access to lithium—a crucial mineral for advancing electric vehicles (EVs) and renewable energy solutions.

The MoU was signed by Shri Indra Dev Narayan, CMD, MECL, and Mr. Rodrigo Nicolas Rosales Matienzo -Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Catamarca, during a bilateral meeting led by Union Minister for Coal & Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy and H.E.Mr. Raúl Alejandro Jalil, Governor of Catamarca, Argentina. The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in critical mineral exploration, mining and investment opportunities.
