CIL signs MoU with RVUNL to set up 1190 MW Solar Power Plant

New Delhi: Coal India Ltd. has signed an MoU with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RVUNL) in Jaipur to develop a 1190 MW Solar Power Plant in Solar Park, Pugal, Bikaner, Rajasthan.

Shri. Pralhad Joshi, Hon’ble Minister of Coal, Mines & Parliamentary Affairs, GoI, Shri. Ashok Gehlot, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri. Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, CIL, senior officials of Ministry of Coal, Govt. of Rajasthan and Coal India Ltd. were present on the occasion.

The plant will boost CIL’s pursuit of solar power generation as part of its diversification programme for clean coal energy. The project will begin in a phased manner and is expected to be an employment generator in the State apart from providing cleaner power.
