The Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDIL) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET): Centre for Skilling and Technical Support (CSTS), Ranchi, on February 21, 2025.

This agreement aims to provide skill development training in the field of machine operation to 80 underprivileged, unemployed, or underemployed youth from the state of Jharkhand, with funding allocated through CMPDIL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. CMPDIL has approved a budget of Rs 68 lakhs for this skill development programme.

The MoA was exchanged between Shri R.K. Mahapatro, GM (HRD/CSR) of CMPDIL, and Shri Pravin B. Bachhav, Joint Director & Head of CIPET: CSTS, Ranchi. The signing event was attended by the HRD/CSR team from CMPDI (HQ), Ranchi, along with officials from CIPET, Ranchi.

Forty beneficiaries would be trained in machine operator-plastics processing (MO-PP) and forty beneficiaries in machine operator-injection molding (MO-IM) technology at CIPET, Hehal, Ranchi.

The courses will be of six-month duration, including boarding and lodging, aligned to NSQF (National Skills Qualification Framework) & approved by the National Skills Qualification Committee (NSQC) - National Skill Development Agency (NSDA), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India.

Skill development programs enable the youth to upgrade their skills and gain industrial exposure and expertise, resulting in securing jobs in the plastic engineering sector.
