World Environment Day Celebrated at IndianOil Refineries HQ
New Delhi: World Environment Day celebrated at IndianOil Refineries Headquarter in New Delhi. In his message Shri B V Rama Gopal, Director (Refineries) urged IOCians to pledge individual & collective commitment to minimise the impact of our actions on the environment. He has also shared the commitment of the Refineries Division, which is consistently working towards bringing down its numbers on all important parameters of its business operations like air emissions, carbon & water footprints while increasing recycling of water and wastes.
Mr. Kaushik Bora, Executive Director (Health, Safety & Environment), RHQ, led senior IOCians at Refineries Headquarters in pledging their commitment towards preserving the ecosystem and creating a greener planet, He also shared that all IOCians at SCOPE Complex, New Delhi are being presented with saplings to strengthen the commitment of IndianOil family towards environment protection and fight air pollution. A themed poster with a pertinent message on beating air pollution and a special e-bulletin of ‘Gleanings’ were also released on the occasion by Mr. Kaushik Bora.
Mr. S M Vaidya, ED (Operations), RHQ, in his motivating address, called upon all stakeholders to rise up to the challenge to stop the damage to the ecosystem due to climate change. He said that the oil industry led by IndianOil has been supplying clean BS-VI grade auto fuels in NCT-Delhi region and NCR with some additional districts, before the scheduled timelines.
To mark WED-2019, IOCians from across the Division participated enthusiastically in a number of competitions like online quiz, essay, slogan writing and photography, that were organised to spread awareness on the theme of air pollution. Functional heads and senior executives gave away prizes to the winners of the competitions during the inaugural event.
