WCL achieved second position at International Mine Rescue Competition in USA
The rescue team of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) represented Coal India Limited in this International Mine Rescue Competition.
Western Coalfields Limited team secured second position overall in the International Mine Rescue Competition-2024 (IMRC-2024) held from 12 to 20 September 2024 in Columbia , USA. Also, secured second position in the First Aid category. The rescue team of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) represented Coal India Limited in this International Mine Rescue Competition. 10 personnel from various areas of WCL were part of this team. This rescue team was led by General Manager (Rescue) Shri Dinesh Bisen. 21 teams from 08 countries participated in the International Mine Rescue Competition- 2024.

Singh, Director (Finance/Personnel) Shri Bikram Ghosh and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre today on 24.09.2024 . Director Technical Shri A.K. Singh praised the team and assured them of good work in future He also motivated them to perform better. He expressed confidence that this victory will boost the morale of the company's rescue workers It will become stronger and everyone will get inspiration to do better.
During the meeting, Director (Finance/Personnel) Mr. Bikram Ghosh and Chief Vigilance Officer Mr. Ajay Madhukar Mhetre also addressed everyone. On behalf of the team, General Manager (Rescue) Mr. Dinesh Bisen shared the experience of international competition with everyone. did .

Ramesh, Assistant Manager Shri B. Ramakrishna, Shri M. Santosh, Shri Vaibhav Dubey, Management Trainee Shri Pawan Kalyan, Mining Sardar Shri Wajid Ali and Shri Piyush Jambulkar were part of the winning team

( Mines Rescue Skill Category) had secured third position. IMRC International Competition is organized once in two years and it is known as a prestigious competition. VECL Rescue Department has proved its skills and saved lives and property at many places. Especially in Parasia, fire broke out in a jewellery shop near Petrol Pump. Extinguishing the fire, saving the life of a student during an exhibition at Nagpur VNIT, extinguishing the fire in the oil godown at Bhadravathi, etc. are noteworthy.
