WAPCOS to provide consultancy services in Tajikistan
WAPCOS to provide consultancy services for the development of the land reclamation and irrigation sector strategy in Tajikistan, a project funded by the World Bank. This initiative includes conducting an energy efficiency audit, reviewing tariffs and subsidies, and shaping the National Strategy for Irrigation and Land Reclamation, a key milestone for the country's economic development.

The progress review meeting on November 26, 2024, brought together stakeholders from multiple ministries, the Agency of Land Reclamation and Irrigation, and the World Bank Mission team, to evaluate advancements and outline the road ahead. Mr. Aditya Kanwar, Deputy Chief Engineer (Civil) and Project Manager from Tajikistan, represented WAPCOS and presented key updates on the project.
This National Strategy, once finalized, will be tabled in the Parliament of Tajikistan for approval by the Honourable President, paving the way for transformative reforms in irrigation and land reclamation.
