Vande Bharat Express: Tata to rollout First-in-India 180 degree rotating seats
The Tata Group company is planning to spend around Rs 3,000 crore on Research and Development process to roll out a seating system for Vande Bharat Express trains from September 2022.

New Delhi: Train 18, popularly known as Vande Bharat Express is likely to get First-in-India's 180-degree rotating seats made by India's multinational steel-making company Tata Steel.
The Tata Group company is planning to spend around Rs 3,000 crore on Research and Development process to roll out a seating system for Vande Bharat Express trains from September 2022.
The leading company bagged Rs 145 crore bulk order for the same including complete seating systems for 22 train sets, with 16 coaches in each train set. Apart from this, the train will get aircraft-style passenger amenities.
Debashish Bhattacharjee, Vice President, Technology & New Materials Business, Tata Steel, told PTI, "This is ‘first-in-India' kind of a supply, which will be executed over 12 months starting September 2022"
