SJVN's NJHPS achieved its Design Energy four months in advance
Shimla: SJVN's flagship 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS), has achieved a significant milestone in Design Energy generation. On 1 st December 2024, NJHPS achieved its design energy generation of 6612 million units. This is the second fastest design energy generation since the fastest-ever design energy generation record set on 19th November 2011.
This extraordinary milestone has been achieved in eight months of the current fiscal 2024-25. The Power Station operated at 1650 MW capacity as a result of 110% plant overloading for 116 days. Also, the Power Station continued to operate without a single shutdown, even amid high silt levels in river Satluj demonstrating unmatched efficiency and operational excellence.
