SECL receives Corporate Award for Environment Management
In the 48th Coal India Foundation Day program, SECL also received awards in individual and team category.
New Delhi: Chairman and Managing Director of "Miniratna" SECL Dr Prem Sagar Mishra received the Corporate Award for Environment Management on the 48th Coal India Foundation Day held on 01 November 2022 at Science City Auditorium, Kolkata. The award was presented by Hon'ble Union Minister of Coal, Shri Pralhad Joshi.
On this occasion, Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Government of India, Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Government of India, Shri M. Nagaraju, Coal India Chairman Shri Pramod Agarwal along with top officials of the Ministry of Coal and Coal India were present. SECL received this award for best environment management among all the subsidiaries of Coal India.
It is to be known that many innovative efforts have been made by SECL in the direction of development of green technology for environmental protection and promotion, which include the use of surface mining technology in mining operations, continuous miner in underground mines and mining through highwall method etc. The company has installed CAAQMS for monitoring of air quality in many of its operational areas. Ananaya Vatika of Hasdeo area and Kenapara located in Surajpur district has been developed as a center of eco-tourism. Last year more than 6 lakh saplings were planted by the company.
In the 48th Coal India Foundation Day program, SECL also received awards in individual and team category, in which General Manager Johila Zone for Best Area General Manager Shri Hemant Sharad Pandey, Best Head of Department/HOD General Manager (CMC) Bilaspur Shri CK Sahu , N Kumar Innovation Award was awarded to Mr. Shah Alam Manager CWS Korba and his team, while the award for Best Female Operator was awarded to Mrs. Piaro Bai, Machinist, Workshop of Bhatgaon Area.
