New Delhi: As a confidence building measure on safety at DSP, a joint safety survey was conducted by Apex Safety Committee members in different safety prone areas under the leadership of Shri Diptendu Ghosh, Executive Director (Works), DSP.

The Apex Safety Committee members have also assessed safety aspect and risk of RMHP Ore Handling and Slag Yard site. Numbers of safety improvement suggestions came up during the visit.

All the valued suggestions are accepted and will be implemented within a specific time frame. More such visits have been planned in coming days to make DSP incident free plant of SAIL. Total safety system in vogue at DSP are being reviewed and revisited with intense employee participation.

DSP is an ISO 45001 certified plant and abides by all laid down National Safety Norms. Regular internal & external safety audits are being carried out; the last one was done by National Safety Council (NSC) of India, Mumbai during 31.10.2022 to 05.11.2022. Safety performance indicators like loss time injury frequency rate (RLTIFR), near miss reporting, safety training etc. are being maintained as per SAIL and Ministry of Steel norms.

However, deviations in safety system are being minutely scrutinized and are being continually minimized for further strengthening of Safety Management System at work places. DSP is also in process of engaging an expert safety consultant for establishing a robust world class safety system.
