RVNL contributes 60% of its CSR budget towards improvement of education & health

In FY 2020-21, RVNL has funded Sustainable Energy activities. A contribution of Rs 15 cr. to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for COVID-19 was also made.

New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited's Ongoing progress of Vivekanand High School in the Govt of India's Aspirational District in Jamshedpur as part of CSR.

RVNL quoted. "Commitment to educational access to under-served and underprivileged sections". CSR initiatives are part of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited ethos and the Company is making special efforts to meet its responsibility to the marginalized communities in areas close to where its projects are located.

The CSR plans are also aligned with the GoI’s strategic focus on the ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts’ Program. The geographic focus of RVNL CSR has been West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha. The partners of RVNL in CSR projects are Ramakrishna Mission, TERI, Sulabh International, etc, Company said.

Accordingly, the RVNL has contributed, approximately 60 percent of its CSR budget, towards the improvement of education and health outcomes in these Aspirational Districts. Additionally, in the FY 2020-21, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has funded Sustainable Energy activities. A contribution of Rs 15 cr. to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for COVID-19 was also made.

A 50-bedded Ward for TB Patients for the healthcare of tribal and economically weaker sections at Ramakrishna Mission TB Sanatorium Ranchi,(Jharkhand) was inaugurated by Hon'ble Governor of Jharkhand Smt Draupadi Murmu. on 27th February 2021. Hon'ble Governor of Jharkhand Smt.Draupadi Murmu also inaugurated a new hostel for 120 tribal and underprivileged boys at Ramkrishna Mission School, Sakchi, Jamshedpur on 28.2.21.

Recently, RVNL also provided educational materials to underprivileged students in Noara, West Bengal during the hard-hit pandemic times. Toilets blocks were also constructed in the R.K.Mission centre for the underprivileged, Noara, W-Bengal.

In keeping with the meaningful community participation through Corporate Social Responsibility, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited is steadily progressing on the expeditious completion of Vivekanand High School in Bistupur, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
