RVNL and MCL signed MoU for Rail Infra Projects
Raipur: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and one of the major coal-producing companies of India Mahanadi Coalfields Limited exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding as Rail Vikas engaged as PMC for the implementation of rail infra projects of Mahanadi Coal.
The MoU was exchanged between Director, Operations Rail Vikas Nigam Limited Shri Rajesh Prasad & Director, Tech. (P&P) Mahanadi Coalfields Limited Shri S.K. Pal in Raipur on Monday, April 18, 2022.
These pacts will help in expediting the development of critically important Rail infrastructure projects of MCL for evacuation of coal to meet the growing energy demand of the country.
MCL has its coal mines spread across Odisha and has a total of seven open cast mines and three underground mines under its fold. There are 45 sanctioned mining projects in MCL with a capacity of 190.83 Mt of coal. The total capital outlay of 45 projects is Rs. 6,076.78 crores (US$800 million).
