REC commits Rs. 10 Crore for Mobile Medical Units under its flagship initiative 'Doctor Aapke Dwar'

The initiative aims to take primary healthcare services to the doorsteps of the underprivileged sections of the society in various districts of Punjab and Rajasthan.

REC commits Rs. 10 Crore for Mobile Medical Units under its flagship initiative 'Doctor Aapke Dwar'

Gurugram: REC Limited , a Maharatna CPSE and a leading NBFC under the Ministry of Power has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Red Cross Society. Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan , Chairman & Managing Director, REC, Shri VK Singh , Director (Projects) , Shri Harsh Baweja , Director (Finance) and other senior officials of REC were also present on the occasion.

The MoU includes financial commitment of Rs 10 crore for procurement and deployment of nine Mobile Medical Units along with related operational expenses for three years. The initiative aims to take primary healthcare services to the doorsteps of the underprivileged sections of the society in various districts of Punjab and Rajasthan.

The mobile medical unit will serve as a lifeline for remote and low-reach areas. It will provide essential medical care to individuals who do not have access to such services. Additionally , REC Foundation is currently operating 10 mobile health clinics under the ' Doctor Aapke Dwar ' initiative in various districts of Chhattisgarh.

REC Foundation has supported over 400 projects in health , sanitation , clean water , education and skill development , women empowerment , sports and environmental sustainability. With disbursement of CSR funds of over Rs 1,300 crore, the total support provided by REC for CSR activities has exceeded Rs 2,000 crore.

The Indian Red Cross is a voluntary humanitarian organization with a network of over 1,100 units across the country . It provides disaster relief and care for economically vulnerable people and communities. It is a leading member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the world's largest independent humanitarian organization.
