Ravi Agarwal set to be new CBDT chief
He replaces Nitin Gupta whose extension ends on June 30.
The government has appointed Ravi Agarwal as the new chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). He replaces Nitin Gupta whose extension ends on June 30.
An official statement said Agarwal's tenure will start from July 1 and he would be in office till the date of his superannuation on Sept 30 this year.
After that, he will be reappointed on a contract basis until June 30 next year under terms and conditions applicable to reemployed central govt. officers, as per the statement from the secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
