Praveena Rai joins as MD, CEO of Commodity Exchange MCX
Praveena Rai, the Chief Operating Officer of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has resigned from her position to become the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). The commodity exchange announced her appointment on Thursday. Rai's appointment was approved by the sector regulator, SEBI, in August, and she has officially assumed her new role, according to a statement.
She has three decades of experience primarily in the financial services sector. She also worked with Kotak Mahindra Bank, Citi, and HSBC before joining NPCI. At NPCI, she looked after business strategy, marketing, products, technology, and operational delivery, it said.
