India's first Regional Rapid Train (RRT) is set to begin operations between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot tomorrow, October 20, 2023. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the train, marking the beginning of a new era of state-of-the-art urban commute in the country.
The RRT is indigenously manufactured and has a designed speed potential of 180 kmph and an operational speed potential of 160 kmph. It is also fully air-conditioned, safe, and comfortable. The train will take less than an hour to cover the 82 km distance between Delhi and Modipuram in Meerut.
