NTPC Bongaigaon concluded energy conservation awareness week
More than 500 participants from the local community and Kokrajhar including the wards of NTPC Bongaigaon participated in the competition.
NTPC Bongaigaon concluded its seven days of energy conservation awareness week in an inclusive manner involving all stakeholders of Kokrajhar. The Energy Efficiency Management Group conducted the energy conservation week involving all its internal and external stakeholders which started from the 8th December and concluded today on 14th December 2021.
NTPC Bongaigaon started the week with the walkathon among its employees which was flagged off by Shri Subrata Mandal, ED,NTPC Bongaigaon in the presence of T. Ravinder, GM( O&M), Shri Umesh Singh, GM(FM and Maintenance) ,Shri D.P Patra, GM(Safety), Shri Amitava Saha, GM(Safety) and senior officials of the station.Later energy conservation pledge was administered in various locations of the plant. Various competitions were held on the occasion of the energy conservation week in various colleges of Kokrajhar. Students from CIT Kokrajhar, Salakati High School and Junior College, Kokrajhar Science College, BTPS High School, Dholmara High School and Music & Fine Arts College took part at Paper Quiz, Poster Making, Drawing and Slogan competition organized by NTPC Bongaigaon.
More than 500 participants from the local community and Kokrajhar including the wards of NTPC Bongaigaon participated in the competition. Principal of respective institutions presented certificates and prizes to the winners in association with EEMG group headed by Shri Sushovan Das and officials of the station .Peptalks on Energy Conservation conducted to Site workers, supervisors along with boiler Housekeeping workers on every alternate day of the celebration.
As a part of the program, a special technical session for the engineers of the station by Shri Monomoy Goswami and Shri Amit Kumar Dey , Assistant Professor,CIT Kokrajhar highlighted various aspects of water conservation and suggested various ways to conserve the natural resources available to NTPC and how to make optimum use of them. Shri T.Ravinder also spoke on various initiatives undertaken by NTPC towards energy conservation to the speakers. An online quiz on energy conservation, suggestions for energy conservation was also held to mark the occasion which drew immense participation from the employees.
A marathon on 12th December of 2 kms and 5 kms saw participants from CISF and NTPC employees saw participants in various categories -veteran, children, ladies and employees which was flagged off within the township by Shri Subrata Mandal,ED,NTPC Bongaigaon in the presence of senior officials of the station. Besides carrying out various awareness drive among the employees, pep-talks on Energy Conservation was conducted to Site workers, supervisors along with boiler Housekeeping workers.
NTPC Bongaigaon ensured that the younger generations of Kokrajhar are made aware on energy conservation so that the message to the larger masses are reached to serve the larger purpose of educating the nation. The events of energy conservation were conducted in a grand manner coinciding with in the 75 years of Indian Independence.
