New Delhi: NLCIL revamped the entire transport system in its 3 Neyveli Mines by replacing nearly 100 vehicles, including 47 personnel carriers, 34 open lorries, 7 canteen vans and 7 refuellers, with new vehicles of TATA SA 1218.T

Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL on 07.06.2023. During the occasion, Functional Directors Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) & Director (Fin. AC), Shri. Samir Swarup, Director (HR), Shri M. Venkatachalam, Director (Power), Dr. L. Chandrasekar, CVO, senior officials, Representatives of Recognized Trade Unions and Welfare Associations & employees were present.
Read Also : Coal India Goes Digital with Online Fuel Supply PactsThe new personnel carriers contain various safety features like cameras for monitoring, pneumatically operated door with emergency exit button provided, individual modular seats with seat belts, AV alarm and amber light as per DGMS guidelines, steel fabrication for more stability, Railway type tinted glass shutters, LED lights, fire extinguisher, etc.
It is believed that the new fleet of ultra-modern vehicles will enhance the transport system in the Mines and ensure more safety, reliability and durability that are crucial to Mines safety.
