NEW DELHI- NLCIL General Hospital conducted a free medical camp 26.02.2023 at the Government High School, Veppankurichi village, for the benefit of the people of Neyveli, Veppankurichi and surrounding areas.
Social responsibility
NLCIL conducts various free medical camps every year in the areas near Neyveli as part of its social responsibility programme. Accordingly, a free medical camp was held on 26.02.2023 at Veppankurichi.
Mr. Rajasekhara Reddy, Executive Director/Mines, NLCIL inaugurated the event at Veppankurichi Government High School Campus. The camp was attended by Mr. Rajmohan, Chief General Manager/Mine-II, NLCIL, Dr. C. Dharinimouli, General Superintendent/ GH, NLCIL,Mrs. Malarvizhi Velmurugan, Veppankurichi Village President and Mr. Raguraman, Ward Councilor.
Medical Specialists
In this Medical camp, specialist doctors, paramedics, nurses and pharmacists from various fields like General Medicine, Child Care, Women Care and Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Ear-Nose-Throat, Dentistry, Dermatology, Orthopedics and Ayurveda provided medical care to the villagers.
Free treatment and free medical implements
Blood tests were conducted at the camp and treatment provided to those who needed it. Also, Hearing Aids were provided to 25 participants in the camp, Wheel-chairs were provided to 15 persons, walking aids were provided to 15 persons, Tripod walking sticks were provided to 15 persons while visually impaired crutches were provided to 7 persons. A total of 913 persons, including 258 men, 436 women and 219 children, benefited from this camp. Also, a water purifier and a first aid kit were provided to the school as a gesture of goodwill on behalf of NLCIL.
The village representatives praised NLCIL highly for carrying out renovation work of the Veppankurichi school under the CSR programme.
