MRPL performs Mass Tree plantation on the occasion of World Environment Day
Mangaluru. MRPL carried out Mass Tree plantation on the occasion of World Environment Day inside its refinery premises. With the cooperation of Karnataka Forest department in the presence of Jokatte and Bala Panchayat members, the program was carried out in the rain drenched early morning of June 5, 2016.

Shri M Venkatesh, Director-Reninery, Shri K S Koppalkar, GGM (I/c-Refinery) and other senior officers and employees of MRPL participated with great enthusiasm in the program by planting hundreds of plants of western ghat species provided by Forest department. Shri Ravi Kumar, from Karnataka Forest department was also present.
Earlier on 4th June, formal Environment Day program was celebrated in MRPL in which officials from Karnataka State Pollution Control Board participated. Shri H R V Reddy, Director of Research – College of Fisheries, Mangalore was the Chief Guest and Shri Rajashekhar Puranik, Environmental Officer, KSPCB was the special invitee. The theme for the event was “Go wild for life” – Zero Tolerance for the illegal wild life trade. Various competitions had been conducted for the school children of the neighbouring villages, and the winners were felicitated during the program
