Kolkata Port and NTPC are collaborating to establish a hub for green hydrogen and ammonia
Kolkata. Kolkata Port and NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, have joined forces to establish a green hydrogen and ammonia hub at the port, according to an official statement released on Sunday.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between these two public sector entities was recently signed, with the primary objective of exploring opportunities related to the production, storage, handling, and bunkering of green hydrogen, green ammonia, and their derivatives, all with the support of the port.

Consequently, ports are being developed to meet the export demands of green energy.
Samrat Rahi, Deputy Chairman of SMP, stated that the scope of the MoU encompasses the formation of a joint working group, conducting a feasibility study, identifying suitable land for the project, and deliberating on various financial partnership models for this clean energy initiative.
