MCL’s two KV schools inaugurated in Talcher

Hon'ble Union Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and Hon'ble Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Pralhad Joshi on Thursday inaugurated two Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Talcher coalfields under Mahanadi Coalfields Limited.

Talcher (Angul district, Odisha): Hon'ble Union Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and Hon'ble Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Pralhad Joshi on Thursday inaugurated two Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Talcher coalfields under Mahanadi Coalfields Limited.

The schools, set-up by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), will be managed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS).

Addressing the gathering, Mr Pradhan emphasized on the opening of more institutions for enhancing educational facilities in Talcher.

Earlier, welcoming the Union Ministers and the guests on the occasions, Mr OP Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director also highlighted the company’s contributions and commitment to ensure that standard education is accessible to all.

He informed that a total of three KVschools would be established by MCL in Odisha. While two schools – KV Jagannath Area and KV Subhadra Area –were inaugurated today at the temporary campus, the third KV school would be established at the Maha Lakshmi Area of Ib Valley coalfields located in Sundergarh district.

The leading coal-producing company of the Government of India, MCL runs 11 project schools through DAV management in Odisha. MCL also supports 17 non-government educational institutions in the peripheral areas through grant-in-aid.

Meanwhile, BhoomiPojan of KV Jagannath Area was also done by Mr Dharmendra Pradhan in the august presence of Hon. MP Dhenkanal (LS constituency) Mr Mahesh Sahoo,  Hon. MLA (Talcher) Mr Brajakishore Pradhan, Mr OP Singh, CMD, MCL, Mr KR Vasudevan, Director (Finance), Mr Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel), Mr Biswaranjan Rath, Sub-Collector, Angul and Dr Shriharan Bose, Dy Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
