Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has set a new benchmark in operational excellence by surpassing 50 million tonnes of coal despatch for the fiscal year 2024-25, achieving this milestone seven days ahead of the previous record.
The achievement reflects a robust 7.7% growth in overall despatch compared to the same period of last fiscal year.

Specifically, despatch to the power sector has increased by 7.5%, highlighting MCL's crucial role in supporting India's power generation infrastructure. Additionally, the company has achieved an impressive 15% growth in environment-friendly coal despatch through railways, aligning with its dedication to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
