Lalit Bohra appointed as Govt. Nominee Director on PowerGrid Board
The term of appointment shall be w.e.f. 18.06.2024 till the date of superannuation or till any other appointment is made or till further orders, whichever is earlier.
New Delhi: An order dated 18th June 2024 by the Ministry of Power has conveyed the appointment of Lalit Bohra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) as Part-time Director (Government Nominee Director) on the Board of Powergrid with immediate effect. The term of appointment shall be w.e.f. 18.06.2024 till the date of superannuation or till any other appointment is made or till further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shri Lalit Bohra is Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India. He is looking after Wind Energy including Offshore Wind and Transmission System including Green Energy Corridors. Before this, he was looking after Solar Energy which includes PLI Scheme for Solar manufacturing, Rooftop Solar programme, PMKUSUM Scheme, CPSU Scheme and battery Storage etc.
He was also Director General of National Institute of Solar Energy. He is an Electrical Engineer from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and an MBA (Finance) from Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani. He is an IRTS (Indian Railway Traffic Service) Officer of 1998 Batch.
