Kochi Refinery Honored Firefighters during National Fire Services Week Ceremony

Chief General Manager (Operations) I/c, Mr. Sankar M, flagged off the procession of Fire Trucks at the National Fire Services Week observance at Kochi Refinery on 14 April 2023. Earlier he paid respectful homage to the brave fire fighters of the Nation in a befitting ceremony.

NEW DELHI- Chief General Manager (Operations) I/c, Mr. Sankar M, flagged off the procession of Fire Trucks at the National Fire Services Week observance at Kochi Refinery on 14 April 2023. Earlier he paid respectful homage to the brave fire fighters of the Nation in a befitting ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sankar highlighted the contribution of firefighters in ensuring safety of the community. He also appreciated the efforts of the Kochi Refinery fire crew in maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

The chief guest awarded certificates and cash awards for exemplary service and commitment to duty.

Mr. MK Ramachandran, GM(HSE)i/c briefed the importance of fire service day and spoke about the various initiatives taken by the Kochi Refinery to enhance safety. Mr. MR Yatheendran, GM(Electrical/Contract Safety) and the KR Fire crew were also present. Mr Bimal Raj V L, Chief Manager (F&S), read out the ‘FIREMANS PRAYER’. Mr. Girish Kumar, Sr (LFM) expressed gratitude.

National Fire Service Day is observed on 14 April in memory of the brave fire fighters who laid done their lives fighting the fire at Mumbai Victoria Dock on this day in 1944.

This day is also observed to honour all firefighters who risk their lives to protect others in the event of any emergency.
