The Gevra Road–Pendra Road rail line is being developed through the JV of IRCON, South Eastern Coalfields Ltd. (SECL), and the Government of Chhattisgarh. IRCON holds a 26% equity stake, while the state government participates with 10% equity via land or cash contributions.

This rail link is critical for handling increased coal traffic from key SECL coalfields such as Sendurgarh, Dipka, Gevra, and Korba. It will ensure smoother coal transportation to Western Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab. The new rail link addresses the rising coal demand and improves logistics efficiency in the region, boosting connectivity and supporting national energy requirements.
