IOC Pilot Testing study of solar indoor cooking system at Leh
NEW DELHI. Dr. SSV Ramakumar, Dir(R&D) flagged off the pilot testing study of solar indoor cooking system at Leh today. IndianOil is the 1st OMC in India to develop a low cost indoor solar cooking solution for lower strata of the society in line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
The breakthrough functionality of the solar cooking system is that it facilitates the harvest and use of solar energy by collecting and storing it for later use.
IndianOil R&D had signed a collaborative agreement with M/s Sun Bucket (a US based start-up working on development of Solar Energy based products) for joint development of solar cooking system for Indian consumers.
The system developed & being pilot launched by IndianOil R&D is portable, and can be safely used for cooking indoors or outdoors. The cooker requires no fossil fuels, and may be “charged” (heated to operating temperatures).
