These submarines are being constructed at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) Mumbai, under collaboration with Naval Group, France.

New Delhi: Indian Navy Today on Wednesday April, 20, 2022 gets the sixth Scorpene class submarine, INS Vagsheer which is constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited. The launch of the submarine happend today in Mumbai.
However, INS Vagsheer will now undergo rigorous trials and tests, both in harbour and at sea before it is commissioned into the Navy. These submarines are being constructed at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) Mumbai, under collaboration with Naval Group, France.
“In true nautical tradition, she finds a new incarnation by the same name. Vagsheer, infused with new life by Mazagon Dock, is once again a very powerful predator of the deep sea, guarding the vast maritime interests of our nation,” Mazagon Dock said in a statement.
