Long before it was legally mandated, HPCL has consistently upheld its commitment as a Responsible Corporate Citizen, implementing well-designed CSR projects aimed at uplifting marginalized communities. The tradition of giving back to the society is embedded in the ethos of the Corporation and has positively impacted countless lives across the nation. HPCL's efforts embody a genuine spirit of service to the nation.

Recognizing the potential of the young India, it is imperative to provide the necessary support and opportunities to enable it to thrive and contribute meaningfully. One of the key focus areas identified where a substantial support system can be created in the country is Healthcare. 'Health and Nutrition’ is also the common theme notified by the Department of Public Enterprises for CSR activities by the CPSEs for the FY 2023-24.
HPCL has undertaken strategic interventions to improve access to healthcare for underprivileged sections of society. Through ‘Project Dil without Bill’, HPCL offers free-of-cost cardiac surgeries to the underprivileged, especially children. Under Project Dhanwantri, HPCL adopts the reach-in approach for beneficiaries by running Mobile Medical Units that ply to the remotest rural corners of the country.

In collaboration with the Army, project ‘Kashmir Super 50’ provides mentoring and coaching opportunities for aspiring students, supporting them to qualify for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test to medical educational institutions. Looking at their success, the project has been replicated in three more regions of Ladakh UT and Jammu & Kashmir UT.
HPCL has also been incessantly working on making the young brigade aware of the importance of cleanliness and sanitation as is evident through its participation in initiatives like the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.' Through innovative measures such as bio-toilets and sanitation infrastructure, HPCL endeavors to promote hygiene and cleanliness across its value chain.
HPCL has also been creating medical infrastructure at locations by providing support to government health establishments to effectively service the community. During the pandemic Covid, HPCL mobilized its resources to provide essential healthcare support, including the establishment of ‘Oxygen Generation Plants’, ‘COVID Care Centers’ and distribution of medical equipment. These initiatives have been instrumental in saving lives and alleviating distress in affected communities.
HPCL remains cognizant of the diverse needs of the country and the necessity for a tailored approach to CSR initiatives. HPCL continues to make a sustainable impact in society, fulfilling its role as a responsible corporate entity and playing a role in shaping a brighter future for the nation.
