New Delhi: Evonith and Metalogic PMS organised a conference on Steel Service Center Retailing & Distribution on 20th December 2022 to initiate the important conversation of the need for service centers in the steel industry.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the conference, the Director, of Jindal Stainless, Mr Vijay Sharma put forward major points about the lack of conversation about last-mile connectivity in the sector. To further his points, Mr Sharma talked about the challenge of understanding the difference between service and profits, while explaining the scenario through the perspective of Mill Thinking vs Customer thinking.
In addition to this, the Chief of Business Unit, Jindal Stainless Steelway Limited, Mr S K Goel participated in a panel discussion with representatives of manufacturers from the steel industry.
Mr Goel put out his points about the increase in capacity of the organisation and the plans for expanding the service centers in the coming years. He also talked about the need for digitisation and tech-enablement in the industry to provide real-time data to customers about their purchases and other queries.
