EIL participated in Cyber Security conference

New Delhi: EIL participated in the Cyber Security conference organised by International Society of Automation (ISA), Delhi section. The “Cyber Secured Digital Transformation" conference was attended by spectrum of industry experts/professionals in Cyber domain, Petroleum & Power Industry including Members of Hydro-CISO-Ministry of Power, CERT-In, NPTI, IIT-Kanpur, DSCI, National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies Quality, AICRA’s TGSC council for Robotics & Automation, GE Research NY USA, IIPA , CISO of ONGC, IOCL, EIL, NTPC , NHPC, PGCIL, suppliers i.e. Waterfall, Siemens, Yokogawa, Netpolean India and Tenable. 

Shri Rajiv Gupta, ED (T), who also holds position of Honorary President of ISA-D section, delivered welcome address for the conference. He explained the importance of Cyber security which was till recently the prime concern of IT department. Since Operational Technology (OT) such as DCS/PLC Control System, Smart grid for power supplies, grid connected electrical equipment, Pipeline with SCADA, rotating & electrical equipment driven by programmable control system are also coming under cyber threats hence cyber security is equally important for Electrical, Instrumentation, ITS & Mechanical assets. 

The need of the hour is to develop national codes, standards, specifications, QAPs & testing facilities to protect critical infrastructure of the country. Ms. Jayati Ghosh ED(T) & Shri Mainak Nandi, GGM (HOD-Instrumentation) also attended the event with ITS, Electrical and Instrumentation team. Shri Mainak Nandi also Chaired Special Session on “Power Infra Cyber Security Policy Framework for India” during the event.
