NCL Coal Production Growth by 11% and off-take Target up-to 3rd Quarter of FY-19

SingraouliThe coal production of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) grew by 11% in the first three quarters (From April to December 2018) of current fiscal ended on Dec 31, 2018. The company also registered a growth of 7% in coal off-take in the same period.
 
Shri Prabhat Kumar Sinha led company has achieved coal production and dispatch volumes which are more than the assigned targets. The company has produced coal to the tune of 74.65 million tonnes and dispatched 75.84 million tonnes of coal up to Q3 thereby surpassing the assigned targets of 73.26 million tonnes of production and 72.21 million tonnes of despatch.
 
Up to the end of the third quarter, the coal production of the company is 11 per cent higher than the corresponding period of the previous financial year. The company had produced 67.45 million tonnes of coal till the third quarter in last fiscal. Likewise, the company's coal dispatch till the third quarter is 7% higher than the same period of the last financial year which, remarkably, is also 105% of the assigned off-take targets by far.
 
Coming to coal-supply to powerhouses, NCL has fed powerhouses with 7% more coal in the said period than the same period of the last fiscal. The company has supplied 62.54 million tonnes of coal to the power plants till December month of the current financial year against 58.40 million tonnes supplied during the corresponding period of the last fiscal.
 
Notably, NCL has been entrusted with the responsibility of producing 100 million tonnes of coal in F.Y. 2018-19 and the off-take target of the company in current fiscal is 100.5 million tonnes. Going by the sustained growth across the performance parameters, the company is likely to surpass the assigned targets this fiscal.
