NHAI Awards Contract for 4-Laning of Takoli - Kullu Section in Himachal Pradesh
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued Letter of Award (LOA) for development of Takoli-Kullu section of National Highway 21 in Himachal Pradesh under phase IV - B of National Highways Development Projects (NHDP).
The NH-21 traverses through Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and further connects Leh in Jammu and Kashmir. It is an important link between Chandigarh and Manali, which is a very famous tourist spot in Himachal Pradesh. Widening of the Takoli – Kullu section would achieve smooth and safe traffic flow, substantial economic gain in terms of reduced Vehicle Operating Cost (VOC) and reduced travel time.
The project will have 2 Major Bridges, 5 Minor Bridges, 2 Vehicular Underpasses, one Vehicular Overpass and adequate road safety features. The project would be executed on EPC mode and scheduled time of completion of the project is 30 months from the date of commencement.PIB
