New Delhi: Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), addressed an International Conference on "Human Capital Development for Energy Transition" on 27th February 2023, organized by the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology.

CMD, IREDA recalled the statement made by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in a post-Budget webinar focusing on green growth, “the potential of Solar, Wind and Biogas in India is no less than any gold mine or oil field for our private sector” and stressed that Renewable Energy sources could generate a huge number of green jobs in the years to come.

Shri Das said that, "Human Capital is the driving factor for sustainable success of any organization, country and society. Effective investment in human capital is essential for development and offers significant long-term economic advantages.”

Speaking on Energy Transition and decarbonization, CMD, IREDA, emphasized that achieving net zero is not just about reducing greenhouse gas emissions, India’s energy transition needs to benefit its citizens to ensure that everyone can breathe clean air and live in a clean and healthy environment. He underlined that Green Hydrogen, and its derivatives would play a major role in achieving the net zero and decarbonising target set by Govt. of India.

Speaking on IREDA's phenomenal growth over the past three years, Shri Das reaffirmed that the organization has been striving to uphold the highest standards of Corporate Governance by putting the 3Cs principles of Conviction, Commitment, and Clarity into practice. He emphasized how the organization has grown its loan book over the last three years from Rs. 23,548 crores to Rs. 38,000 crores (approx.) and has been able to reduce its net NPAs from 7.18% to 2.03%.
