In the overall category, Nagpur Area secured the first prize, Pathakheda Area claimed the second prize, and Ballarpur Area received the third prize.

Closing Ceremony and Prize Distribution of the 53rd Regional Mine Rescue Competition

The two-day 53rd Regional Mine Rescue Competition organized by WCL concluded on October 29, 2024, at the Mine Rescue Station Indora. A total of 12 teams, including participants from various WCL areas, MOIL, Hindustan Copper Limited, RCCPL, Sunflag Iron & Steel, and a WCL Women's team, competed in the event.

The closing ceremony and prize distribution were presided over by Shri Jai Prakash Dwivedi, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of WCL, with Shri Ramavtar Meena, Deputy Director General of Mine Safety (Western Zone), as the chief guest. Mr. Neeraj Kumar, Director of Mine Safety (NR-1) Western Zone, served as the chief judge.

Other dignitaries present included Mr. Anil Kumar Singh, Director (Technical), Mr. Bikram Ghosh, Director (Finance and Personnel), Mr. Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, Chief Vigilance Officer, Mr. Altaf Hussain Ansari, Director of Mine Safety (Parasia Area), Mr. K. Ravinder, Director of Mine Safety (NR-2) Western Zone, Dr. Kaushik Sarkar, Mine Inspector (OHS), Western Region, Mr. C.J. Joseph, Coal India Safety Board Member, and members of the WCL Steering Committee.

In the overall category, Nagpur Area secured the first prize, Pathakheda Area claimed the second prize, and Ballarpur Area received the third prize.

The program commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Dinesh Bisen, General Manager (Safety), and concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. D.B. Revatkar, General Manager (S & C). A large number of officers and workers attended the event.
