BPCL Kochi Refinery's another milestone, launched I-Butanol the fourth Petrochemical
The PDPP at Kochi Refinery will produce approximately 7000 MT per annum of I-Butanol.
Kochi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Kochi Refinery crossed another milestone in its Petrochemicals journey, when ISO-BUTANOL, (I-Butanol) the fourth product from the Propylene Derivatives Petrochemical Project (PDPP) was launched by Shri Sanjay Khanna, Executive Director (Kochi Refinery), and the first truck was flagged by Shri AN Sreeram, Chief General Manager (Project Technical & PETCHEM), Shri. Teekam Singh, Territory Manager (Industrial & Commercial) Kochi, Ms. Sarah Thomas, Chief General Manager (Employee Relations) and Shri Girish V, Chief Manager Technical Services (I&C)-South along with ED (KR) from the PDPP Truck Loading Gantry on 03 August 2021.
Senior executives including Shri Chacko M Jose, Chief General Manager (Operations), Shri. Kurian P Alapatt, Chief General Manager I/C (Human Resources), Shri Sankar M, Chief General Manager (Manufacturing), Shri S Sriram, Chief General Manager (Engineering & Advisory Services), Shri Senthilkumar G R, Chief General Manager (Technology), Shri Suresh John, Chief General Manager (Projects Procurement) and team members witnessed the special moment. Earlier, ED (KR) was welcomed by Lt Col R Murugaiyan, Chief Manager (Oil Movements & Storage) & Customer Order Fulfillment and Shri M Sivasankaran, Senior Operator Truck Loading.
The PDPP at Kochi Refinery will produce approximately 7000 MT per annum of I-Butanol. The first dispatch of I-Butanol, that had three ISO containers with a total quantity of 57.22 MT was transported to M/s.Payal Polyplast Pvt Ltd, Panchal Udyog Nagar, DAMAN. I-Butanol finds end use in Products of Plasticizers, solvents, adhesives, paints and coatings Industries.
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had dedicated the Propylene Derivatives Petrochemical Complex at Kochi Refinery on 14 February 2021, which was set up with a capital cost of approximately Rs.6000 Crore. Earlier, on 14 April 2021 the first product Acrylic was launched followed by N-Butanol along with PDPP Truck Loaning Gantry inauguration on 22 April 2021, while 2 Ethyl Hexanol was launched on 07 May 2021.
