BHEL Q2 Results: Shares of Defense PSU high over 6%, reported net profit of Rs 96.7 crore
State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) reported a net profit of Rs 96.7 crore for the September quarter. The shares of the Defense PSU touches record high increase of over 6%.
Despite the drop in other income segments, the company has gained substantially in net profit margin. BHEL had reported a net loss of Rs 58.3 crore during the same quarter last year.

The company reported its consolidated net profit at Rs 106 crore as compared to a Rs 63 crore loss reported by the state-run company in the year-ago period. Total expenses incurred by the company in the reported quarter stood at Rs 6,571 crore versus Rs 5,875 posted in Q1FY25 and Rs 5,519 crore in Q2FY24.
Revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 6,584 crore. Within BHEL's segments, the power segment revenue increased to Rs 5,028.8 crore compared to Rs 4,073 crore last year, while that of the industry segment increased to Rs 1,556 crore from Rs 1,052 crore in the year-ago quarter. Meanwhile, the Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) stood at a positive Rs 275 crore, compared to an EBITDA loss of Rs 153.3 crore last year.
