Airtel deploys network in Jammu and Kashmir, Leh Ladakh for superior voice and data connectivity

The deployment will also allow Airtel to offer wider coverage along the highways and rail routes as well as increase its footprint in rural areas as the demand for connectivity continues to rise exponentially.

New Delhi: Bharti Airtel one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers announced that it has completed the deployment of the additional spectrum it acquired in July 2024. The deployment of an additional 5MHz on the 2100 band and an additional 3.8 MHz on the 900 band will give a boost to Airtel’s 5G/4G network capacities which, in turn, will improve and enhance data speeds and provide significantly better coverage inside homes and buildings both in urban and rural areas.  

 The deployment of the additional spectrum is now complete and as a result, customers across Jammu, Srinagar & Leh Ladakh, etc. will enjoy an elevated quality of service both on voice and data.

The deployment will also allow Airtel to offer wider coverage along the highways and rail routes as well as increase its footprint in rural areas as the demand for connectivity continues to rise exponentially.

It not only re? acquired the expired spectrum holdings but also expanded its Sub?GHz spectrum and efficiently consolidated its fragmented spectrum blocks into continuous spectrum. Airtel, to its credit, holds the largest pool of mid?band spectrum.

With its diverse spectrum holdings across the 900, 1800, 2100 and 2300 bands, the company is well positioned to serve the growing demand for high?speed data services with 5G and 4G network. It has also recently started the re?farming of mid?band spectrum for 5G to meet the growing data demands.
