Government to focus on assisting banks in improving flow of credit to Agri-allied sectors: M Nagaraju
Department of Financial Services Secretary M. Nagaraju emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring seamless access to affordable credit for the agri-allied sector. He urged all stakeholders to take necessary measures to enhance the flow of credit to this sector.
This statement was made during a review of the progress in credit disbursement for agri-allied activities, which include animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries, in collaboration with Public Sector Banks (PSBs), NABARD, and the State/UT Level Bankers’ Committee.

He also urged State Governments to facilitate banks in improving the flow of credit to these sectors.
The Secretary underlined the importance of the allied sector in driving agricultural growth and its employment potential in rural areas. He also directed banks to conduct regional-level assessments and meetings to ensure disbursement of credit in all areas as all regions have huge potential in allied activities.
