Oil India's Assam Oil Field resumes operations

The Khagarijan EC block area is located in the North eastern part of OIL's operational area in Upper Assam Basin and located to the south of the Brahmaputra River.

New Delhi: Hon’ble CM, Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on August 20, 2022 announced the resumption of operations at Khagorijan Oil Field under Chabua revenue circle, district - Dibrugarh in the presence of Shri Rameswar Teli, Union Minister of State, MoPNG & MoL&E, and MLAs of various constituencies. 

Present on behalf of OIL, in the ceremonial event held at Rohmoria, were Shri Pankaj K Goswami, Dir-Ops, Dr Manas K Sharma, Dir-E&D, Shri Prasanta Borkakoty, RCE & other officials of OIL. 

District admin members & a large number of general public also attended.

Khagarijan oilfield is a part of the Tinsukia PML area located in Dibrugarh District of Assam. The Khagarijan EC block area is located in the North eastern part of OIL's operational area in Upper Assam Basin and located to the south of the Brahmaputra River. The Khagarijan oilfield is included within the depositional plains of the River Brahmaputra and its tributaries. Physiographically, the field can be classified as Low-lying alluvial plain area
