Five coal mines of Mahanadi Coalfields win Safety Excellence Award
Five coal mines operated by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) have been awarded the Kalinga Safety Excellence Award for their outstanding safety performance in 2023. Siarmal and Ananta open cast projects (OCP) received awards in the Platinum Category, while Kaniha OCP, Kulda OCP, and Basundhara (West) OCP were honored in the Gold Category.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, presented the awards at the Wednesday Safety Conclave 2024 held in Bhubaneswar. "This honor recognizes MCL’s ongoing commitment to safety and its proactive measures to maintain safe working conditions across its operations," MCL stated in an official announcement.
