Telecom operator Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) reported a net loss of Rs 836 crore for the third quarter of FY25, a slight improvement compared to a loss of Rs 839 crore during the same period last year.

The company’s revenue from operations declined by 11.6% year-on-year, reaching Rs 170 crore, down from Rs 192.2 crore in Q3 FY24. This decline reflects the ongoing challenges faced in the telecom sector.

MTNL's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) loss increased to Rs 128.1 crore from Rs 125.7 crore in the previous year, indicating continued cost pressures and operational difficulties. Despite being a key public sector undertaking (PSU), MTNL has experienced a decline in market share and subscriber base amid intense competition.

Ahead of the earnings announcement, MTNL shares closed at Rs 46.86 on the BSE, marking a decrease of 5.33% from the previous session.
