NTPC Kudgi Empowers Communities Through Skill Development; Wins Prestigious CSR Award

New Delhi: NTPC Kudgi continues to set a benchmark in corporate social responsibility (CSR) through its sustained and impactful initiatives aimed at community upliftment and skill development. In a significant demonstration of its commitment to inclusive growth, NTPC Kudgi recently distributed sewing machines to 500 women from Project Affected Villages (PAVs) upon successful completion of a Skill Development Training Program in Sewing and Tailoring.

Furthering its focus on youth empowerment, NTPC Kudgi also distributed electrical tool kits and certificates to 40 youth who completed the “Skill Upgradation Course for Basic Electrician Training.” This program has already benefited over 720 students from PAVs, equipping them with technical skills and enhancing their prospects for self-employment.
The distribution ceremony, held on 22nd March 2025, was graced by senior NTPC officials including Sh. Bidya Nand Jha (Executive Director, NTPC Kudgi), Smt. Anju Jha (President, Mitali Mahila Samiti) and Sh. Kalis S. Moorthy (Head of HR). Members of the Mitali Ladies Club and other NTPC officials also extended their support and encouragement to the beneficiaries.

The award was presented for its Women Skill Development Program—an initiative that has not only trained 500 women in tailoring but also enabled many to start earning a livelihood, thereby uplifting entire families and contributing meaningfully to the local economy.
This award reaffirms NTPC Kudgi’s enduring commitment to sustainable development, women empowerment, and community welfare. By fostering self-sufficiency through skill enhancement, NTPC Kudgi continues to inspire and lead the way in corporate social responsibility transforming lives and creating a more equitable society.
