GRSE Champions Innovation: GAINS 2024 Winners Receive Prestigious Funding Awards

Kolkata (April 7, 2025): Continuing the sustained push towards self-reliance and cutting-edge innovation, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) hosted the GRSE Accelerated Innovation Nurturing Scheme (GAINS) 2024 Funding Award Ceremony on Monday, 07 Apr 25. The ceremony marked the official award of funding to M/s Cloudmetica Technologies, an MSME, and M/s IIT Guwahati Technology Innovation and Development Foundation, a start-up, for their pioneering solutions in shipbuilding and green energy technology, respectively.

Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd.), Chairman & Managing Director, GRSE, presented the funding awards to Smt. Venkata Padmaja Karlapalem, Founder & CEO of Cloudmetica Technologies and Shri N N Dutta, CEO, Technology Innovation Hub, along with Prof N R Mondal, Chair Professor, IIT Guwahati Technology Innovation and Development Foundation. Shri RK Dash, Director (Finance); Cdr Shantanu Bose, IN (Retd.), Director (Shipbuilding), Shri Abhishek Ranjan, IOFS, CVO, along with other senior GRSE officials were present at the occasion.

GAINS 2024 was launched on 10 Jul 24, by Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth Ji, drawing 66 proposals from innovators across India. Following a rigorous multi-stage selection process, M/s Cloudmetica Technologies and M/s IIT Guwahati Technology Innovation and Development Foundation were declared as winners.

The event celebrated India’s brightest innovators, reinforcing GRSE’s commitment to fostering indigenous technological advancements under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Start-up India’ initiatives. By recognizing and funding breakthrough ideas, GAINS 2024 aims to revolutionize ship design and construction and green energy technologies, paving the way for a future driven by homegrown innovation, in keeping with the National goal of Atmanirbharta.
