NLCIL Distributes Assistive Devices and Artificial Limbs under CSR through ALIMCO

In the first phase, on 01.02.2025, NLCIL had distributed artificial limbs and appliances to needy beneficiaries with Disabilities (Divyangjans) in Cuddalore District through ALIMCO.

NLC India Limited, in line with fulfilling the vision of Prime Minister Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat, had inked an MoU on 06.09.2024 with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India Limited (ALIMCO) to reinforce its ongoing community development activities in Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu at a project cost of 1.08 crore, as part of its CSR initiatives.

ALIMCO, a Mini Ratna CPSE, under the aegis of Department of Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, manufacturing various types of aids and appliances to meet the requirements of persons with disabilities across the country, had, as part of its MoU with NLCIL, conducted assessment camps at Kurinjipadi and Veppankurichi areas in Cuddalore District during December 2024 and identified 390 beneficiaries.

In the first phase, on 01.02.2025, NLCIL had distributed artificial limbs and appliances to needy beneficiaries with Disabilities (Divyangjans) in Cuddalore District through ALIMCO. 

Now, in the second phase, assistive devices and artificial limbs were presented to 71 differently abled persons (Divyangjans) at the Vallalar Higher Secondary School, Vadalur in Cuddalore District on 04.03.25 through M/s. ALIMCO by NLCIL under its CSR initiatives.

Shri. Samir Swarup, Director (HR), NLCIL distributed the assistive devices viz, Walkers, Battery Operated Motorised Tricycles, Tricycle Conventional, Hand Propelled Tricycle, Conventional Wheelchair Folding etc., to the beneficiaries in the presence of Shri. DVS Narayana Murthy, Executive Director/Legal, CSR & NLC India Hospital, Dr. Sukumar, CGS/Medical, Shri. D. Dhanapal, CGM/Finance, Shri G. Srinivasa Babu, GM/CSR, CSR department officials and officials from ALIMCO.

With this gesture, NLCIL reaffirms its commitment to community welfare measures benefitting the needy in society.
