Gujarat Maritime Board Chief Resigns as Director from Adani Ports Board
Mumbai: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) today informed the stock exchanges that Mr. Rajkumar Beniwal, IAS, has resigned from its Board of Directors.
Mr. Beniwal, who serves as the Vice Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the Gujarat Maritime Board, tendered his resignation on December 29, 2025. The resignation was formally received by the company today, and his directorship has ceased with effect from January 19, 2026.
Reason for Resignation:
The resignation follows an official order (No: AIS/35.2025/56/G) issued by the General Administrative Department, Government of Gujarat, dated December 23, 2025. As a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, Mr. Beniwal’s board positions are subject to government postings and directives.
Regulatory Compliance:
The intimation was made by APSEZ to the BSE and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, which mandates the disclosure of key managerial personnel changes.
Context:
The Gujarat Maritime Board is a key regulatory and development body for the state's ports. Mr. Beniwal's presence on the board of India’s largest private port operator highlighted the collaborative interface between the state’s port administration and a major port developer.
The company has not yet announced a successor for the board position.
